I was invited to try some Burt's Bees Intense Hydration with Clary Sage as part of another BzzAgent campaign. As part of this campaign, I was given a full-size Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser, Intense Hydration Treatment Mask, and Intense Hydration Night Cream.

Yes, this is a beauty blog. But also, it's a blog about the things I get for free or at a discount to try out and tell you about. I've talked about BzzAgent before, and this time I want to tell you about a new campaign I was invited to be a part of--the Pork, Be Inspired campaign. For giving my honest opinion, I was provided with a coupon for $5.00 off of a pork cut of my choosing.

My husband and I picked up a pork loin this evening with the coupon. My campaign kit included a little recipe booklet from the PorkBeInspired.com and we decided to try out the Balsamic Rosemary Pork Loin with Roasted Potatoes. It was delicious!

The BzzKit--included a digital meat thermometer (i can't tell you how excited my husband was for this), a little baster, coupons, and lots of recipes!

Bath & Body Works® Fall Mini Candle

As part of my Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox I got a cute little Bath & Body Works candle. I'm big on home fragrance in any form--candles, diffusers, wax tarts, I love it all. The fragrance I received was Mahogany Teakwood, and it's the first time I've come across this particular scent. The B&BW site describes the fragrance this way: "Revel in the cozy fine woods fragrances of mahogany, cedarwood and oak, highlighted by delicate lavender and geranium notes."

Beauty Blogger VoxBox

It's here! I'm digging the new Influenster site, and I was so excited to qualify for their Beauty Blogger VoxBox. If you aren't familiar, influenster is a site where you can review products, unlock badges through being active in social media, and hopefully get a chance to receive a VoxBox full of products to try! I've never been disappointed with one, and this was no exception. Here's what I got:

Group Shot. Not pictures: EBOOST drink powder. This is immediately took to work as an afternoon pick-me-up. I work in close contact with the public and, despite valiant efforts, am always getting mild to miserable colds. I've tried the EBOOST powder before, and I love that it's fizzy and the flavor is mild.

Influenster Relaunch

I've shared plenty of influenster product reviews on this blog, so you probably have a general idea of what it is about. You review, share, and answer questions about products to unlock "badges" and the more active you are the better your chances of being sent a "voxbox" full of fun products to try.

Influenster recently got a MAJOR facelift--have you checked out their relaunched site yet? If not, head over to influenster and give it a look! I'm loving the new content they've put out--it's a lot easier to interact, share, and review. It sounds like they've beefed up the number of campaigns they're running, too. It's sort of difficult to navigate from one place to the next, but I suspect that will go away as I get used to the site.

I've got a Beauty Blogger voxbox on the way that I can't wait to share with you! Influenster

BzzAgnet: UNREAL Candy

Another BzzAgent review! If you haven't checked out BzzAgent yet, I highly recommend it for those of you who actively seek out new products and love to chat about them:)

Anyway, I was invited to try UNREAL candy for free and give my honest opinions about it. So far I've tried two UNREAL candies: the chocolate peanut butter cups and the chocolate caramel nougat bar.

BzzAgent Glade Expressions

I love fragrance, period. Perfume, wax tarts, candles of all shapes and sizes--and don't even get me started on Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and Black Phoenix Trading Post's perfume, bath, and massage oils! (seriously, go check out their amazing scent catalog). So I was very excited when BzzAgent invited me to try Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser and Fragrance Mist. Full disclosure: BzzAgent gave me coupons good for free products, but I am under no obligation to give positive reviews and the opinions expressed here are my own. You can learn more about BzzAgent here.

I love finding interesting places to shop almost as much as I love finding interesting things to buy and use. Are any of you using Sneakpeeq? I just bought my first product from them yesterday, and I think I'm might be addicted! I've been a member for a while and got a free pair of earrings for signing up (their signup bonus changes, but I think you get a $10 credit for signing up).

You sign up for Sneakpeeqwith your facebook account. I don't like to have too much information on what I'm buying cluttering up my wall for friends to look at, so I just made all of the Sneakpeeq app's activity viewable by "Only Me" in the privacy settings. Their sort of like Gilt Group or HauteLook in that there is a new "store" opening every day, and the stores only stay open for a few days at a time. So far I've seen a lot of neat home decoration, lifestyle, accessories, niche food, and of course beauty. The overall look and feel reminds me a bit of Etsy, although I think the brands have tended to be more established than that.

Every day you get a set number of "peeqs" to see the discounted price on any given item. The more you peeq, the greater your chances of earning badges to get even further discounts. The peeqs reset at midnight. Fair warning--as I found out yesterday, you can only purchase one item at a time. Their FAQ says they're working on a shopping cart feature, but for now that means you can only use a discount badge on one product at a time.

The product that finally enticed me?

Julep Polishes on HauteLook

Quick post to share this: Julep polishes are on HauteLook! I <3 Julep polishes, and there are a lot of good deals to be had. Julep polishes typically sell for $14/each, but HauteLook has trios on sale for $18 each. They've also got some of their nail, foot, and body care items on sale for 50% off or more. Julep Mavens regularly get a generous 20% off online purchases from julep.com, so this is even better! The sale ends 7/7 at 8:00am, so if you see something you like hurry.

For those unfamiliar, HauteLook launches daily brand sales at what are often deeply discounted prices. There isn't anything special about being a member, you just sign up over on hautelook.com.

There's a ton for sale and so far nothing has sold out, here are a few examples:

Blues, Essential Neutrals, Modern Pinks, $18/set (reg. $42)

Be. Wines

Wanted to share a review I did for BzzAgent about Be. Wines. I got a coupon for a discount on Be. Wines in exchange for purchasing and reviewing the product. That said, the opinions are my own and not influenced BzzAgent.

Free Benefit Duo from Sephora/Free Sephora Birthday Gift for Beauty Insiders

This year's birthday gift is so great--a Fresh mini lip duo! If you aren't a Beauty Insider, I highly recommend it. If nothing else, you get something cute on your birthday ;)

Not sure when this ends, but it's still on the website and I thought I'd pass it along with photos of mine that arrived yesterday. Use code DANDELION to get a free mini Benefit Dandelion highlighter and Ultra Plush lip gloss.

More SircleSample Samples

Just a few more to share-- e.l.f Hypershine Lip gloss and e.l.f. Shimmer Liner. Background on SircleSamples is in a post from earlier this month.

gloss in 'Berry Cherry'

These both retail for $1 and I have to say I'm impressed. The lip gloss gives nice coverage and isn't sticky at all. The name Hypershine had me worried it might be super sparkly or something, but it's just a good everyday gloss. Love that the pencil has a sharpener. There wasn't a color given on the pencil, but looking at the e.l.f. website I'm pretty sure it's 'Boldly Bronzed.'

Friday, June 15, 2012

So, I've been waiting on these for a while. Longer than SircleSamples.com said it would take, but whatever. It's all here! And it was free! The four that got here today (in the box below) Were all ordered more or less than the beginning of May. I emailed customer service twice to ask about them, and they were responsive if not exactly full of answers. They're still in Beta, so I totally understand. And really, how can I complain? These samples are fantastic!

For previous posts about SircleSamples, see here, here, and here. Oh, and here. The first and third of those explain what SircleSamples is, the other two are other free samples I've gotten.

Anyway, THRILLED with some of this stuff:

June 2012 Birchbox

June is my favorite month, no question. Well, maybe except for Christmas, but it's close. June is always so much fun--school is finally out (which is far more satisfying after a year of graduate school than it ever was as a kid), the sun is shining, and my birthday is at the end of the month. With that in mind, I was hoping this month's Birchbox would be awesome and I wasn't disappointed.

This month's theme--summer! Or rather, travel ready beauty products:

Sample Society June

This was my first month as a Sample Society subscriber. Sample Society is BeautyBar.com's subscription service, and is backed by Allure. I've followed other people's boxes for a while and always been impressed with the sizes of the samples, so when a slot finally became open (after waiting 6+ weeks!) I jumped at the chance. The box also comes with a $15 off of $50 coupon for BeautyBar.com when you include a product from any of the brands in the month's box in your order. I really appreciate that it's based on the brand instead of the exact product--I think that'll make it much easier to use! If you use the $15 coupon your box is basically free.

Here's what was inside:

Sunday, June 3, 2012

This is in the running for the best subscription box I've gotten. Glossybox launched its first box this month (well technically the second, they raffled of the first batch in April). The $21 price tag is a little higher than most other boxes, and honestly I was planning on signing up for the first round and then unsubscribing since it seemed a bit steep for samples. Glossbox includes "five luxury travel-sized beauty products" a month.

First off, the care they put into the packaging really impressed me:

The box is nice and sturdy, and will be easy to find a new use for...if nothing else it'd make a lovely gift box. Contents under the jump:

Sally Hansen Salon Effects

As you know, I'm a big fan of the nail stickers that are everywhere lately. Sally Hansen Nail Effects came in my Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox, and I got to try out these for free to give you my opinions.

See pics/review:

Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions Review

Video review of Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions Review. I was given a set of these to test and review for free in my Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox.

Product Information from the Dr. Scholl's website:

Bath & Body Works Fine Fragrance Mist

Here's my video review of Bath & Body Works Fine Fragrance Mist. This was a complementary sample I was given through the Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox. The fragrance I got is Paris Amour, and I am in LOVE with this stuff. I'm not 100% sure when it happened, but B&BW updated their packaging and I think it's great looking. If you're interested you can check out their website at http://www.bathandbodyworks.com.

Product Information from Influenster's product page:

Sheer Cover Review

Here's the first of three video reviews of products I received in my Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox. This review is about Sheer Cover Duo Concealer, and I did get it free to try out. My opinions are my own. You can learn more about Sheer cover at http://www.sheercover.com.

Pixi on HauteLook

I've been a member of HauteLook for probably a few years, but I never made a purchase before this month. Pixi showed up in my ill-fated Sindulge boxes (here, here and here) and I've grown fond of the brand. For those unfamiliar, HauteLook launches daily brand sales at what are often deeply discounted prices. There isn't anything special about being a member, you just sign up over on hautelook.com.

Anyway, Pixi showed up one morning and I made a teensy (no, really!) impulse purchase:

Quick Update

This week was a little light on posting, in part because it's crunch time at the end of the semester and in part because I haven't gotten much fun stuff in the mail. I'm waiting on tons, though, so be looking for these soon:

DermStore.com order, $50.00 of product for around $5.00
Sample Society June Box
SircleSamples.com free samples, including: RAW Color brush set, Simple Pleasures Lip Balm, Soulstice Universal Body Lotion, "Bring it Up" Reusable breast lift, and Stila Nail Polish
(unfortunately, it looks like there's still a longish wait to get into the sirclesamples beta site. if you're on the fence, I'd recommend getting your name on the list and they'll hopefully be opening up more spots soon!)

and a bit later:
June Birchbox
June BeautyArmy
June Love with Food

Kiss Nail Dress Reward

Waaay back when I did a review of Kiss Nail Dress nail stickers I got in the Influenster Love VoxBox. Background on the Love VoxBox is here, and my Kiss review is here. Once you received a VoxBox you can earn Influenster Brand Badges by doing reviews, tweeting about products, etc., and for some of those you earn prizes. Kiss generously said that anyone completing the badge would get more nail products, and mine finally arrived!

Jouer Samples

A cute little package showed up in my mail yesterday from Jouer. I had a sample of their luminizing moisture tint in one of my birchboxes and loved it, but it wasn't quite the right shade for my summer just-tanner than pale color. Looking at the colors on their website, I couldn't tell if Golden or Glow would be better, so I emailed to ask if there was a place for me to purchase a few samples before I bought a whole tube of it. Jouer graciously offered to send me samples of the two colors, and even threw in some extras! I love a company with generous customer service, and I'm very impressed with Jouer so far. Here's what I got!

Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox

It finally came! I'm going to do video reviews of the products later on, but I wanted to share pictures in the meantime. Disclosure: I received this box to try for free from Influenster. If you're unfamiliar with Influenster it's a site where you sign up and earn "badges" that help you qualify for voxboxes like this one. It isn't necessarily more badges = more boxes, it just depends on who they want to target. Prior to this I received the Love VoxBox, reviews for that one are some of the blog's first posts.

 Anyway, here's what I got!

Love with Food--New Lower Price

Just a quick post to point out that Love with Food (reviewed here) has dropped its price from $14 to $12. I resubscribed because I think it's a great value for that price. You can sign up here, and I believe promo code FRIENDLOVE will get you another $5 off your first box (valid through 5/31). Don't forget, for every box you buy Love With Food donates a meal--how cool is that?

Julep May Box

I *finally* got my Julep May "It Girl" Box. I guess there were problems with many of the brushes in this month's polishes, so mine was among those delayed while they fixed it. The box came along as usual, but they included three extra caps.

Check out my earlier Julep Maven review here, and you can sign up here. Use code SHAREONMAY to pay $.01 for your first box.

May Conscious Box

I knew this month couldn't top the Earth Day box from April, but this month's still had a lot of neat things I'm looking forward to trying.

Everything together! The soap in the foreground was the extra for people who posted on their facebook wall....

Glossybox is Live!

Glossybox finally went live for subscriptions an hour ago, anyone else subscribing? I'm going to try it out for a month or two since $21.00 for a sample box is pretty steep. This is technically month two--Glossybox had a drawing for a limited number of their first box. I wasn't lucky enough to win one, but you can take a look at the brands included here. It's supposed to ship later this month, so I'll put up pictures and a review as soon as I get it!

Is That Odd Samples

Yesterday I got an adorable little bag of samples from isthatodd.com. Check out my previous post for an explanation of the site and how to get your own free stuff. Like Sirclesamples.com, you join, participate to earn points, and use those points to "shop" for free samples. The ones I got today was the Mango Moisturizing Mask from Bambola Beauty (bambolabeauty.com).

May 2012 Birchbox (Now with Reviews)

Sorry for a drive by post, I'll be back with more impressions when I have a bit more time. This month was a Gossip Girl box. I don't watch the show, but I like what I got in the box.

Edited Wednesday Night: Some first impression reviews.

SircleSamples.com Glamour Doll Eyes

I'm still waiting on the other two samples to arrive, but this was just so pretty I couldn't wait to share! I got this sample for free for participating on sirclesamples.com, previous posts about the site here, here and here.

This is a mineral shadow from Glamour Doll Eyes, a company I've been dying to try.

I love the cute graphic packaging on the shadow, and they included a sticker!
(I'm a sucker for that kind of thing.)

Sindulge: On the Fence.

(If you don't want to read the whole saga, the box contents and pics are at the bottom!)

So, a while ago I gave you a quick run-down on a new beauty subscription service called Sindulge. Same basic format--every month you get a little box of samples, $12/month, earn points for rewards, etc.--but the twist is that you do a beauty consultation to help them determine what to send to you.  The first month had some problems, as can be expected from a new start-up. Some people had a lot of people scheduling consultations, and I was stood up for my first one. Even so, it wasn't bad. I was able to reschedule right away and my box was alright as far as value. To compensate they offered everyone a free box for April. They actually charged my card for $.01, which is vaguely irritating just on principle alone but not enough for me to dispute it.

Monday, April 30, 2012

Have you signed up yet? I have three more (totally free) samples coming my way: a lip gloss, mineral eyeshadow, and Bring it Up reusable lift tape. The eyeshadow should be here any day, can't wait to review it! In case you missed it previously, I've already gotten two Napoleon Perdis lip glosses, a Stila lip stain pencil, and a mini Jouer lipgloss.

Right now they're still in Beta, and I am not sure you can sign up and get immediate access to the site. Still, definitely get on the wait list so you're first in line--so far this has been an AMAZING deal. I've gotten all of that free stuff without having to do much more than fill out a beauty profile, take a few very short surveys, and review the samples I've received. Very easy to earn points and I think the site will be great when it's out of beta.

April Beauty Army

This is long overdue, but here's my April Beauty Army box! If you aren't familiar with Beauty Army, it's a beauty subscription service that runs $12 a month. The best part? You choose your own samples! When you sign up you take a quiz, and from these answers you are given nine samples to select from. Each month you choose six, and you can take the quiz over as many times as you'd like to try and generate a different mix of products.

Admittedly, I always take the quiz about a million times trying to get exactly what I want. I love that they always show the size of each sample so you know just what you're getting. Other perks? The option to skip a month, and you can review products to earn discounts in their online store.

Here's what I chose for April:

Birchbox Product Reviews

I brought a few of my recent Birchbox products on a whirlwind trip to NYC this weekend.

Yes To™ Blueberries Brightening Facial Towelettes
I am typically a dedicated am and pm face-washer, but I had a feeling I'd be facing some late nights and wanted to be sure I at least had a lazy way to get my makeup off--getting in at 2 or 3 am after a few bars does not inspire me to stick with my beauty routine. I felt *super* grimy by the end of the day in the city and add in eating out, sitting in the gross airplane air, etc. and I was expecting some scary irritated skin by the time I got home. The towlettes themselves are a generous size, about twice the size of LA Fresh makeup removing ones. They're nice and soft, with a subtle pleasant smell, and do a good job of being just a smidge exfoliating when you rub your face in little circles. My eye makeup came off without much fuss, which is my biggest complaint with some other brands.

My face definitely needed a good once-over with my Clarisonic brush when I got home, but I had minimal blemishes develop over what should have been a nightmare trip complexion-wise. With the little portable bag the convenience factor can't be beat, and I'll be buying these to travel again.

Lulu Organics® Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder
Can I just say, LOVE? The last day of the trip everyone slept in and we had to rush to get out, so I didn't have time to take a shower. I am so glad I had this in my bag. I've been in the habit of using Oscar Blandi dry shampoo in a pinch and like what it does to my hair's smell and volume, but I don't always feel like it makes my hair look very clean. (Background: I've got fine, thick hair that gets oily quickly around my hairline and ears but stays pretty dry at the end. It's probably six inches longer than in my photo at present).

The package said to use a dime sized amount, but I ended up using a little more. This went nicely into my hair, no powdery looks, and the smell  was fresh and herbal without being overpowering. I'm not a fan of putting things into my hair that have a strong smell all day, but this faded into the background over the course of the morning. Compared to Oscar Blandi my hair looked much less greasy for a lot longer, including my bangs which are typically my biggest problem. I'll be picking up the full size for the summer!

Befine exfoliating cleanser: I always feel like I need a good scrub after travelling, and I gave this a shot last night. The exfoliating bits in it seemed a bit too jagged to use with my Clarisonic brush so I skipped that, but otherwise I enjoyed this. It isn't the most satisfying cleanser I've used (you know what I'm talking about--that good, smooth, tingly feeling!) but I did like that it didn't dry my skin out at all afterwords. I followed up with Befine's night moisturizer and woke up to refreshed looking skin.

In short, I love this service! Sign up for birchbox over here

April Conscious Box

Conscious Box promoted their April earth day box pretty heavily, and I signed up on an impulse. At $19.00 (incl. shipping) it is a bit more than my other subscriptions, but I figured it'd be a fun treat this month. This box was STUFFED full of awesome samples and coupons.

I couldn't actually get everything back in the box to take a good photo of it.

  • Oogie's Gourmet Popcorn: sooo good. My husband and I both really liked it.
  • Clandestino chocolate covered banana
  • Cloud 9 Raw Chocolate fudge (little packed top left)
  • The Original Himalayan Crystal Salt: this was a generous little packet of it (on the left side of the pamphlet)

  • Planet Dishwashing Soap
  • Earth Friendly Products parsley plus cleaner
  • Glob Natural Paint lemon verbena (green and yellow package): this is such a neat idea! You mix it with water to make the paint. I'll have to think of a project to use it on.
  • generationME laundry detergent
  • Groovy Planet: that's the teensy doll in the upper left. If you tell it your problems and put it under your pillow it'll take them away:)
  • SeedBallz: *love* these. I knew someone who made them and engaged in "guerrilla gardening" by tossing them in unplanted roadsides or lots. There's three in the ziplock packet, and they came in the little cloth bag.

  •  Climb On! Multi-purpose cream, smells awesome and I can never have enough little lotions
  • Juice Beauty peel. I LOVE this stuff. I got it in my first Birchbox and have been pining for it ever since. This is a very generous sample, big enough for multiple uses.
  • Bare Body Soaps (on the left): Conscious Box will toss a little extra in your box for posting on their facebook wall, and this was April's surprise. What a great little bonus!
  • Sparklehearts conditioner
  • Natural Joy Beauty (ColourFusion Lip Glaze): This is a nice sheer pink color.

In addition to all of the goodies, there were coupons for just about everything (and then some). This is a great subscription service, although I wish they had a referral or points program like many of the others do. This may be a keeper!

April Birchbox

Another great month from Birchbox! This month's theme is "natural wonders," full of earthy and fresh products. I was not disappointed! Sorry for the low-light photos, I couldn't wait until tomorrow to share!

The tissue was light and dark green instead of the usual birchbox fuchsia, a nice touch.

This month's contents:
  • Befine skincare sampler: I'm nuts about Befine's night moisturizer, which I got in one of my first boxes ever. I ordered it again in this month's Beauty Army box, too. The packaging on this is just lovely, and the sample sizes are generous. There's two single use packets of daily moisturizer with SPF 15 and three packets of exfoliating cleanser. Can't wait to try these out!
  • Lulu Organics Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder: this is the little brown package in the bottom right corner of the group shot. I've been loving dry shampoo, and hair powder seems like a neat alternative. I'm going to NYC for a long weekend, I think I'll bring this with me to try out.
  • Wonderstruck Taylor Swift: This is a nice, light fragrance. I'll wear the sample this summer. I have to say, I far prefer the more boutique fragrances birchbox puts in its boxes--Atelier, LIV GRN, etc.
  • Zoya in Bevin: This is not nearly as green as it looks in the photo; it's a not-quite-mint bluish green. The photo below is from Zoya's website. I'm a *huge* Zoya fan, and I'm always happy to get another mini polish in my box!

  • Yes To Blueberries Brightening Facial Towlettes: I've been totally obsessed with anything brightening lately. The sample contains 8 towlettes--plenty for a good trial run. These may come to NYC with me, too!
If you aren't familiar, birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The whole box is just $10 monthly and shipping is free. You can subscribe here

Mario Badescu Free Samples

Mario Badescu sent me these samples for free, and so far I've really enjoyed them. The enzyme cleansing gel is a great everyday moisturizer, I like the eye cream, and the special cucumber lotion smells *so* good.

Want some too? Head over to their website and fill out a quick questionnaire. They'll recommend products that should be a good fit for your skin. Put your real email address on the form, and in a few days you should get an email asking if you'd like to try some samples! No credit card info or anything is necessary, so it's a great way to try out a new skincare line. Full-sized products are reasonably priced, so no worries if you totally fall in love with something either!

NYX and Revlon COLOR!

Like I said, I tried to be practical with my Ulta order. But NYX and Revlon were 40% off...how could I resist?

Cream Blush in Glow: I've actually never tried a cream blush before, and I have to say the pigmentation is *awesome.* The color is a nice dewy pink when it's blended. This retails for $5-7 and NYX is on sale pretty frequently, so I'll definitely be picking this up in some more colors. (swatch on right)

Lip Liner in Peekaboo Neutral, and Citrine: Peekaboo Neutral is a perfect match to a discontinued shade of clinique lipliner I have, and it's nice and matte. Citrine has more shimmer, and is maybe a bit warmer than it looks in the swatch. I think both will be very versatile.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipcolor in Coral Berry: This is a fabulous color. I have a similar orangey-coral-pink, but it's shimmery and too much for everyday wear. This isn't matte but it's not sparkly, and it goes on semi-sheer. Very pretty.

Ulta Free Stephanie Johnson Makeup Bag

I am not an Ulta shopper. That's not meant to be snobby or anything, it's just one of those stores that I go into once in a while but it's never at the top of my list. But this promo? Made me a believer.

Last week Ulta was running a promo for a free Stephanie Johnson makeup bag full of ten deluxe samples when you spent $60.00.  Our household was about a week away from running completely out of shower gel, unscented lotion, and shampoo/conditioner so I figured it was a good time to make an order. I'll spare you pictures the boring stuff, but I was able to take advantage of a BOGO on Ulta shower gels and a BOGO 50% off on lotion along with my shampoo--toss in a $10 off $60 and free shipping and I got an awesome deal!

The bags themselves are pretty cute, typical GWP vinyl makeup bags. The 10 samples are awesome.

  • philosophy amazing grace shampoo, bath & shower gel 1 fl. oz.
  • DDF Amplifying Elixer 0.5 fl. oz.
  • DKNY pureDKNY body butter 1.7 fl. oz.
  • LORAC TANtalizer deep body bronzing illuminator .4 fl. oz.
  • boscia oil-free daily hydration .33 fl. oz.
  • smashbox O-Gloss intuitive lip gloss .10 fl. oz.
  • bareMinerals purely nourishing moisturizer .17 fl. oz.
  • Fekkai shampoo 2 fl. oz.
  • Murad Acne & Wrinkle Reducer .125 fl. oz.
  • Urban Decay lip junkie lipgloss .12 fl. oz.
I'm glad Ulta included some cosmetics. I'm most excited about the Urban Decay lipgloss. It's in Midnight Cowboy, which I've got in a lipliner already--it's an awesome shade. The O-gloss is a self-adjusting lip gloss...cool! The philosophy gel and DKNY lotion both smell great, too. Reviews will follow as I try things : )

First Samples from sirclesamples.com!

I was surprised to see two little packages from Sirclesamples.com waiting in my mail for me today! For those who haven't checked it out yet, Sircle Samples is a new website (still in Beta) where users can review products and take surveys in order to earn points to use in the sample shop. The website is still a little glitchy, as can be expected, but so far it seems very promising. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have in store.

Here's what I got:

Grab Bag for Lips: I believe this was 600 points, and the description said I'd receive one or two surprise lip products. Who can resist a surprise!? Here's what came:

tarte LipSurgence natural lip tint in peaceful
mini jouer lip gloss (and yes, that's birchbox pink)

I'll admit I'm a little puzzled about the birchbox pink Jouer, especially since I've gotten both it and the tarte  lip tint in past birchboxes. Still--what a great surprise! I love and regularly use the little gloss, so I'm happy to have a second. The lip tint is $24.00 on tarte's website, so needless to say the grab bag far exceeded my expectations from a sample site.

Napoleon Perdis Siren lip gloss: I managed to grab these in two colors, tangerine/tangerine and nude/passion fruit. It's a nice gloss, if perhaps slightly sticky. The colors are both lovely--the orange is a little sparklier than shows up in the photo. Both taste good, too. I snagged these for 300 points each, but they're now showing up as 600 points on sirclesamples.com. They're full sized, so I'd say still very worth the points.

Needless to say, I can't wait to see Sircle Samples' official launch. For free samples these cannot be beat.
